Discovering Northern Morocco from Tangier in 5 Days

On the first day of your 5-day tour in Northern Morocco, you will be picked up from your accommodation, the airport or the port in Tangier. Tangier is a city located northwest where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Spartel. You will explore the city, the cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel. There will be free time for lunch. Afterward, you will drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through the city of Tetouan and the Rif mountains. There will be stops for panoramic views, and you will spend the night in a hotel in Chefchaouen.

After breakfast, we'll set out to explore Chefchaouen, also known as the Blue City or Achaoun in Berber. Nestled in the Rif mountains of northwest Morocco, this charming town is famous for its blue and white painted buildings and alleys. We'll wander through its picturesque old Medina and admire the numerous authentic blue doors that make for stylish photo backdrops. After our stroll, you'll have some free time for lunch. Then, if you're feeling active, you can hike up to the Spanish mosque, situated on high ground, for a spectacular panoramic view of the entire Blue City. We'll end the day by returning to our hotel.

After enjoying breakfast, take some time to wander through the picturesque alleyways of Chefchaouen, the Blue City. Later, we will drive to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is remarkably well preserved. Here you can see beautiful mosaics, ancient pillars, and archways. After exploring the ruins, we will drive 30 km to Meknes, one of the imperial cities, and the Ismaili capital. During our visit, we will see Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal stables, the granary, and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Finally, we will head to Fes for an overnight stay in a traditional riad.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your Fes accommodation and embark on a tour of this imperial city, renowned for its cultural and religious significance in Morocco. Our first stop is the Royal Palace gate, followed by the medieval Medina that has been impeccably preserved and recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. You will enter the Medina with a local guide to explore attractions such as the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin mosque and university - the oldest university in the world. After that, we will visit the Jewish quarter "the Mellah" and then drive to an ancient fortress to enjoy panoramic views of the Medina and Fes city. We will then return you to your riad.

On the final day of your 5-day Northern Morocco tour, we will depart Fes after breakfast and head to Rabat - one of the imperial cities and the current capital of Morocco. Located in the northwest of Morocco, we will visit the city's highlights, including the Hassan tower, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Kasbah of Oudaya. You will have some free time for lunch before we proceed to Casablanca, the economic center of Morocco. Depending on your flight time, we might visit the Hassan Il mosque, the largest mosque in Morocco. Finally, we will drop you off at the airport to end the tour.
